KUALA LUMPUR, 18 May 2026 – With millions of Malaysians still uninsured or delaying treatment due to rising healthcare costs, We Kongsi is expanding its community-driven healthcare model beyond hospitalisation to cover everyday outpatient care. The initiative, developed in collaboration with HEYDOC Health, will be made available to eligible members nationwide from Q3 2026.
Since its establishment three years ago, We Kongsi has grown to more than 8,000 members nationwide and facilitated over RM3.4 million in medical cost-sharing support, reflecting the increasing demand for accessible and community-driven healthcare alternatives in Malaysia.
Built around We Kongsi’s mission of “Anyone Can Afford Healthcare,” the new initiative aims to address one of the most common healthcare challenges faced by Malaysians – the affordability and accessibility of everyday outpatient treatment.
What eligible members receive
Under the collaboration, eligible We Kongsi members will gain access to outpatient healthcare benefits, including telemedicine and cashless clinic visits including:
- Teleconsultation and telemedicine via digital platforms
- In-person clinic visits
- Cashless payment at 4,500+ clinics nationwide
A model built for sustainability
Unlike traditional pay-per-visit outpatient models, this approach supports more structured and sustainable healthcare utilisation – reducing unnecessary cost inflation while keeping care accessible and affordable for members.
“Many Malaysians delay seeking treatment simply because of cost and that is a problem we cannot ignore,” said Tan Chun Sian, CEO of We Kongsi. “This collaboration is not just about expanding benefits, it is about strengthening the support system behind every member, so no one has to choose between their health and their finances.”
The initiative marks a deliberate step in We Kongsi’s evolution from a community-based inpatient cost-share model toward a more complete healthcare support ecosystem – one that addresses everyday medical needs through digital innovation and accessible care pathways.
“Healthcare should not be complicated, fragmented, or inaccessible. Through this partnership with We Kongsi, we are building something different – a community healthcare model that combines digital convenience with real clinic access, making everyday care simpler and more connected for members.” said Dr. Raymond Choy, Founder & CEO, HEYDOC Health.
Eligible members will be able to access the new outpatient care benefits from Q3 2026. Further details on eligibility and enrolment will be communicated directly to We Kongsi members ahead of the launch.
